I recently graduated with my PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (August 2013) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and have accepted an offer with the consulting firm, McKinsey & Company. I am very excited about this opportunity and eagerly look forward to joining the firm in August 2013! I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees both in Electrical Engineering, also from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2005 and 2008, respectively. My hometown is Cherthala, a small town in Kerala,  India.

I have always been fascinated with light and its various applications. During my PhD, my primary research interest was in developing novel laser sources and in demonstrating practical and useful applications in medicine, defense and healthcare. Using these lasers, I have performed field trials/ tower tests at the Air Force Research Labs and live animal trials investigating potential treatments for hypertension. Beyond these major contributions to the state-of-the-art, I have also performed numerous other significant studies, such as laser acne treatments, laser myopia treatments and non-invasive surface roughness measurements. I have also worked on and built laser prototypes from concept to product development in collaboration with Omni Sciences, Inc., which builds commercial lasers based on our group’s PhD works.

Other interests include finance and photography.  I am in the process of preparing for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) level 2 exams. In my spare time, I am also learning to play the violin and the French language. I am always on the lookout for interesting and challenging problems.
